Crazy the pics you're getting from Sims
djp73, You got Age to thank for it. Not to say it's now necessary, but it does something for player-based chises.

The Georgia Tech Era
Chapter I: Adjustments

The freshman year, life was brewing for Jodi as the new student on campus. Among all the fresh faces to arrive as students and student-athletes, aside from the campus visit, it didn't take long for people to be welcoming to the kid from Danville, California. As the lone man on uncharted territory, Jodi played ball with everyone, feeling out the vibes, keeping it respectful. Jodi wasn't a stranger to unnecessary intimidation as he saw before when he arrived in Danville. You know how school is, it's always that one guy who think he's big shit, but fortunately so far, the people Jodi has met were cool off the rip and helped get him acquainted with the right people and places he'll need to be familiar with throughout his tenure here. After getting his class schedule in order, Jodi set his sights on rubbing elbows with the head coach of Georgia Tech football, Brent Kay.

"I'm glad you're here, Jodi. I really believe you made an excellent choice coming to Georgia Tech."

"Thanks Coach, I'm glad to be here."

"How's the transition been so far? You settled in well enough?"

"Yeah, I think so. But if someone told me it be hot today, I wouldn't wore this windbreaker, the nylon is irritating me like crazy."

Coach Kay bellied out a laugh, "Yeah son, we get a lot of those days here. Don't worry, you'll get used to it once we whip you into shape for the field."

"When it comes to the field, I'm about as good to go as there can be. Put a ball in my hand and I'll give you six points all day long."

"Easy there, relax, I appreciate the enthusiasm, really. But the football season is a few weeks out, right now, it's all about training and getting the depth chart in order."

"True enough. So, Coach, let's be real here. Haynes King. He's your guy as of last season, I read up on. Dude had a incredible season, 2,842 passing yards, 27 TD passes, 737 rushing yards, 10 TD rushes, he was only one of the two power five players to do that. Where do I stand against that? Am I going to sit my freshman year on the bench?"

"Well, I would surely hope not, Rogue. King is a great kid, got his head on his shoulders and more importantly, is a team player. He really is for the team winning, but at the end of the day, you have to earn your spot here at Georgia Tech just as everyone else. It doesn't matter what he did last year, Haynes will still have to earn his spot as the starting quarterback if he wants it that much. So everyone gets a reset, everyone is on an even battle field. This is where you seize the opportunity to show us that you belong here. We seen your tapes, we love what we saw, and I would love nothing more than to see that in training very soon. Give us a reason to make you our guy."

"You already know I will, Coach. I didn't fly over 2,000 miles to be forgotten."

"I like your spirit, but there's more to it than just having the starting position. Earn the respect of your peers, keep your grades up, more importantly, take care of your-self. Keep your-self ready and able and your time will come. I think the question here what's more important to you, playing time? Or winning? Whichever your answer is, it'll put you on the intended path accordingly. Take some time and think it through about what you really want to do here."

And while football was the main objective and reason to be here in Atlanta, Georgia, it didn't take long for someone to catch Jodi's eye, two of them actually.

Jodi was a free agent as far as he was concerned. With Prisha now in the past, Jodi had set out to explore, dabble, and see what he likes. It was clear that the ladies he came across liked what they saw in him, be it surface level or something more, Jodi's charm was in full effect. Perhaps all this time, being dedicated to one girl, he was missing out on the ocean while sitting on the beach. For Jodi, all that was to change in his intent. While still heartbroken, Jodi wasn't ready to slide into a new relationship, he still needed time to mend old wounds. But if there was ever the agreement of casual fun until he got his-self right, Jodi was all for it.

Speaking of mending wounds, what better way to mend it than making new friends? Enter Gabriel Jackson. To be frank, if there was ever a parallel world for goofballs, Gabriel would be on par with Tyrone, his best friend back home. The east coaster, was as goofy as they come, loved to share a laugh and keep a smile on people's faces. But Gabriel wasn't all shits and giggles. He ran with a crew, dabbled in drug dealing, got his hands dirty when needed, he wasn't one to fuck with when it came down to business. So what's a "hood nicca" doing at Georgia Tech? "bachelor of science in business administration" is what he told Jodi. But Jodi knew better to stick his nose deeper into other people's business, but he respected Gabriel that he was open about his business, who he was, what he do, and how he's not about putting other's in harms way. When it comes to deep-dives of that dark realm, he's very adamant about closed-mouth discussions.

Then there's the welcoming committee themselves, Dina & Troy. Jodi has met these two during his first visit to Georgia Tech, helping with the unofficial tour on campus. These three hit it off fast once Jodi made his commitment and arrival to Atlanta. While both were sophomores and good friends together, that was about as much correlation the two had. Dina was a track & field star and had a crazy obsession with her leg muscles, especially her calves. Troy on the other hand, he was into the book club and engineering. Whenever he wasn't out and about with his girlfriend, whom Jodi has yet to meet, Troy could be found nerding it up with his fellow members about the latest manga and trading card tournaments that featured Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh. Nevertheless, both seemed down to earth with Jodi and he was content with that.

"So, Jodi, how are you liking Georgia?" Dina asked.

"I haven't seen much of it, just mostly the school and whatever commerce on the drive here."

"I'm going into the city this weekend, you should come for a more thorough expedition."

"That depends, what's your plans for the weekend adventure?"

"Nothing much, just do a few shopping, I'm still in need of finding a nice couple of summer outfits. You could come and help me, and maybe stop by somewhere and have some brunch?"

"Sounds like you want me to be your cabbie more than you be my tour guide." Jodi joked.

"Don't think of it like that." Dina smiles at Jodi cheerily. "Come on, it'll be a good time."

"Alright, alright, I'll go with you. What about you Troy? You up to tag along?"

"Naaah, I'm going to my girlfriend's house to help her Dad with a few things."

"Oh, y'all like, like that? Cool with Pops and all that?"

"Yeah, I guess having a state trooper in your pocket have it's perks sometimes. Last time we had dinner there, Michelle said, "Daddy, pass the salt", and you get the idea of what happened."

"... Well, shit, who passed the salt? Don't leave me hanging" Jodi nudged Troy with his shoulder with a slight smug. "Nah, that's cool bro. Dad Cop just keeping y'all on the upright and narrow I guess. Can't be said for some others I know."

Jodi turns his attention back to Dina in the mist of the loud crowd at a local juice bar. "So what about you, Dina? You single or you parlaying?"

"I! Am! Single!" Dina shouted, drawing some eyes her way. "My ex-boyfriend was a total douche bag and I couldn't be more happier to get rid of his ass!"

"I'm kind of afraid to ask what happened between you two, but as long as you're happy.."

"Very happy! I just feel so stress-free, Jodi. You know? Like the weight has been lifted off of my shoulders."

"Yeah, I get you. Been going through that my-self from back home."

"Ooh, you know what we should do on our day date? Share our war stories of our exs!"

"Wait, day date? That's what we're calling it?" Jodi asked inquisitively. "And I thought the whole point of putting our exs in the past was to never speak of them again?"

"You got a point there. But sometimes, you just want the hoefax, spill a bit of tea and get to truly know someone. You can learn about someone how they speak about others behind their backs."

"In that case, my ex was a grade-A scholar."

Dina, Jodi and Troy, all three shared laughs and enjoyed each other's company throughout the remainder of the day, before heading their separate ways. As Jodi made his way back to Eighth St. East residence, that homesickness began to kick in. It's always nice to be around people to help you forget the woes and seize the day, but Jodi was still new to this in a sense. Sure, Jodi has been alone for a long time as an orphan kid from Compton, bouncing around from couch to couch, in and out of the system, the rhythm hasn't changed. But this would mark his adventure outwards from a place he once called home. When that high comes crashing, out of everything that was going on at Georgia Tech, that was the one adjustment that was going to take time...
