Tulsa's struggles continued as they fell to the USF Bulls, 35-20, in a turnover-filled game at home. Despite a strong rushing performance from Brandon High and some key defensive stops, the Golden Hurricane couldn’t overcome critical mistakes, allowing USF to pull away late.
Tulsa opened the scoring in the second quarter with a 47-yard touchdown run by Brandon High, showcasing his explosiveness. However, USF responded with a pair of touchdowns—a 3-yard run by Alvon Isaac and a 20-yard pass from Byrum Brown to JeyQuan Smith—giving them a 14-7 lead. Tulsa closed the gap with a 46-yard field goal by Michael Slaba, but the Bulls struck again with a 32-yard touchdown scramble from Brown to extend their lead to 21-10. Tulsa answered just before halftime when Cardell Williams connected with Corey Smith on a 46-yard bomb, making it 21-17.
In the third quarter, Tulsa’s defense held firm, limiting USF to no points while Slaba added a 51-yard field goal to bring Tulsa within one at 21-20. However, the fourth quarter saw the Bulls take control, with Mike Davey punching in a 2-yard touchdown and Alvon Isaac adding a late 1-yard score to secure the win for USF.
USF’s Byrum Brown was sensational, completing 32 of 37 passes for 404 yards, throwing a touchdown, and adding a 32-yard rushing score. Alvon Isaac contributed two rushing touchdowns, while Finau Longa was a key target, amassing 122 receiving yards. Defensively, Rodney Hill recorded 17 tackles and an interception, and Dinellson Exume registered three sacks to stifle Tulsa’s offense.
Tulsa’s standout performer was Brandon High, who racked up 144 yards on 23 carries, including a touchdown. Cardell Williams struggled to find consistency, finishing with 147 passing yards and a touchdown but also throwing a costly interception. On defense, Daniel Calloway and Elihjah Wilson led the team with 11 tackles each.

However, FAU responded with a 12-yard rushing touchdown from Xavier Terrell and a 1-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Peters to Zeke Moore, narrowing the gap to 17-14 just before halftime.
In the second half, leading rusher Brandon High was injured early in the third quarter and did not return to the game, leaving a significant void in the backfield. Despite the setback, Tulsa regained control, with Williams throwing another touchdown pass to Smith, this time from 5 yards out, increasing their lead to 24-14. In the fourth quarter, Viron Ellison Jr. capped off an impressive performance with a 4-yard rushing touchdown, followed by another rushing score from Williams to seal the victory.
