SHARKS look to right the ship against RANGERS...

October 11, 2018

PREVIEW

After a disastrous start to their Road Trip, the San Jose Sharks(2-2) look to snap their skid. Losing to the New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers dropped the Sharks to a 2-2 start.

"Road games are always hard when you're not on your A game." Sharks Head Coach Pete DeBoer said.

The Sharks lost in Philly, Tuesday Night 4-2, but don't let the score fool you. San Jose was sloppy. Flat out sloppy.

"Our game against the Flyers was I thought our worst game so far this year. We still have a long season ahead, but we need to right the ship. We were just awful in Philly. Out of sync. No clean passes, too many missed shots. Just garbage play." DeBoer said.

San Jose(2-2) struggled BAD. They were out of sync with each other from the opening puck drop.

"Nobody was on the same page it seemed like. We were always either too many feet ahead of each other or way behind. We passed sloppy, our shots on Goals were sloppy. Just an awful performance." Sharks Captain Joe Pavelski said.

The New York Rangers(0-2-1) are still looking for their first win this year. The Rangers are off to a slow start only scoring 5 Goals and allowing 12 in their first 3 Games.

Their 22nd in Power Play % with 12.5. The Sharks are tied for last with 0% after going 0/1 on the Man Advantage in Philadelphia. The Rangers can kill the Penalty %81.8 good enough for 13th in the NHL right now.

The Sharks have struggled so far this year on the Penalty Kill. They rank 30th with %16.7 just ahead of the New Jersey Devils at 0%. Rookie Curtis Sawyer and Alternate Captain Logan Couture lead the Sharks with 2 Goals. Netminder Martin Jones(2-2) has 138 Saves and a .926% Save.

San Jose currently sits in Third Place in the Pacific Division. The Rangers are off to a slow start as only a handful of Players are tied with 1 Goal. Netminder Henrik Lundqvist(0-1-1) has just 70 saves and a .897% Save percentage.

The Rangers sit in 8th place in the Metropolitan Division.
