Manchester United Sell Evan Ferguson to Atalanta for £33M

Evan Ferguson got his dream move to United last year, but sadly it is all over as he leaves for Italy.

Evan Ferguson has completed a move to Atalanta in a deal worth £32.6 million, bringing his Manchester United spell to an end after just one season. The Irish striker arrived as a reliable backup option and delivered solid contributions when called upon, but circumstances shifted quickly following United’s blockbuster summer business.

With the arrival of Jude Bellingham and the subsequent reshuffle in attacking roles, Marcus Rashford is set to reclaim the number 19 shirt and transition into the primary backup striker role behind Rasmus Højlund. That change reduced Ferguson’s pathway to minutes, prompting both player and club to agree on a move that suited all parties.

From United’s perspective, the deal represents smart business. Signed for £28 million, Ferguson departs for a slightly higher fee, ensuring a profit while freeing space in the squad for established stars and emerging academy talent. Atalanta gain a young forward with Premier League experience, while United continue refining a squad built to dominate on every front.

Takefusa Kubo Leaves Manchester for Newcastle in Massive £190M Transfer

Despite an excellent run with the club, Kubo leaves on bad terms amidst a contract dispute.

Takefusa Kubo’s time at Manchester United has come to an abrupt and dramatic end, with the Japanese international completing a blockbuster £190 million move to Newcastle United. The fee represents one of the largest transfers in football history and almost single handedly offsets the cost of Jude Bellingham’s record breaking arrival earlier in the summer.

The move follows a prolonged contract dispute that intensified after Bellingham’s signing. Kubo, one of United’s most productive players over the last two seasons, pushed for a new deal that would place him on wages comparable to Bellingham’s £400,000 per week. While United acknowledged Kubo’s importance, the club hierarchy were clear in their stance that he did not belong in the same salary bracket as the face of the project.

With negotiations stalling, United made the decision to cash in. Only Saudi backed ownership were willing to meet both the enormous transfer fee and Kubo’s wage demands, allowing Newcastle to step in and complete the deal. Kubo remains in the Premier League, but United move forward having protected their wage structure while reinvesting heavily in the next phase of their rebuild.

Manchester United Sign Geovany Quenda from Bayern Munich for £45M

Amorim gave Quenda his debut at 17 years old and the two are now reunited in Manchester.

Manchester United have moved quickly to replace Takefusa Kubo with the signing of 20 year old Geovany Quenda from Bayern for £45 million. Quenda joined Bayern two years ago from Sporting but never fully established himself in Germany, making him available at what United believe is a reasonable fee for a player of his ceiling.

Ruben Amorim knows Quenda well, having handed him his senior debut at Sporting, and has been instrumental in pushing the deal through. The United head coach sees Quenda as an ideal fit for the right attacking midfielder role, praising his quickness, pace, dribbling ability and natural eye for goal.

At just 20, Quenda arrives with the opportunity to grow into a long term star at Old Trafford and re establish himself under a manager who already trusts him.

Geovany Quenda Out Three Months with Broken Toe

Image
Disappointment for Quenda as he got injured in his debut match.

Geovany Quenda made an immediate impact on his Manchester United debut, recording two assists and earning Man of the Match honors in the UEFA Super Cup clash against Manchester City. However, his promising start was cut short after being forced off due to a foot injury. Scans have revealed a broken toe, sidelining the 20 year old for the next three months. United have moved quickly to adjust, promoting Tyler Dibling to start at RAM and keeping 18 year old Logan Marsden from going on loan until January to provide additional cover. A frustrating setback after just signing the player.
