Shooting woes continue, Spurs fall flat to Blazers, 115-95
November 7, 2024 -- Frost Bank Center

SAN ANTONIO -- For the second game in a row the Spurs failed to shoot over 40% from the field and scored less than 100 points in a blowout loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, 115-95, on the second half of a back-to-back.

Devin Vassell was just about the only Spur who showed up to play, notching his best game this season with 33 points, including 7-of-12 from deep. Unfortunately, he didn't get much help, as the rest of the starting unit only combined for 35 points.

The defense struggled to stop the Portland offense as well, allowing the Blazers to shoot 54% from the field and were outscored by 28 points in the paint.

Up Next -- San Antonio matches up with the Utah Jazz (4-4) at home after getting a much needed night off.

Spurs bounce back with thrilling 2OT win over Jazz, 132-128
November 9, 2024 -- Frost Bank Center

SAN ANTONIO -- With 54.5 seconds left in double-overtime, Victor Wembanyama found Chris Paul on the break who would hit an open three, sealing the deal to deliver the second win of the season, as San Antonio beat Utah, 132-128.

Both wins this season for the Spurs have come from last-second heroic efforts against the Jazz.

“We match up well across the floor I think,” said Paul, who scored 19 points and eight assists. “It’s always tough going up against them, but we showed grit in those tough moments and came out with the win.”

Devin Vassell may finally be finding his groove after a slow start to the season, notching his second consecutive 30-point outing.

San Antonio saw seven players reach double figures in the win – along with Wemby, CP3, and Vassell – Harrison Barnes (16 points, 4-8 3PT), Keldon Johnson (13 points), Julian Champagnie (12 points in 15 minutes), and Jeremy Sochan (10 points, nine rebounds, and five steals) were all major contributors in the win.

Up Next -- San Antonio continues the home stand after a night off before hosting Sacramento Kings (6-4).
